St. Elias
Specialty Hospital is a joint venture with
Providence Health System and BridgeCare
Hospitals. St. Elias is Alaska's
first Long-Term Acute Care Hospital
(LTACH).
St. Elias Specialty Hospital is a Medicare
certified and Joint
Commission accredited 60-bed Long-Term Acute
Care Hospital. All 60 beds are in large, private rooms. It is the first and only
hospital of its kind in Alaska.
At St. Elias
Specialty Hospital, we provide
customized,
physician-driven programs for
patients requiring longer stays in an
acute care environment due to multiple or
complex medical conditions.
Most of our patients
are admitted directly from a traditional acute
care hospital, often from the Intensive Care
Unit, or from a skilled nursing facility or a
physician's office.
